Recently all the notes from ATM are marked with few horizontal lines on both sides, and general public didn’t knew what was the motive behind such markings.
Upon enquiry from bank staff we came to know such markings are Braille language for blinds i.e. useful for people with visual aphasia; alexia; word blindness: inability to perceive written words.
Five lines are embossed on a ₹ 500 note while seven lines on ₹ 1,000 note and four on ₹ 100 note. This type of initiatives are seriously needed to help people who are physically challenged.
We hope that now all of your confusion regarding these black markings has been removed.
